About our program

During my years coaching field hockey at Northport Middle School and Northport High School, I saw firsthand the powerful impact a strong youth program can have on long-term success. Thanks in large part to its youth development, Northport has consistently been one of the top-ranked teams on Long Island. During my time at the middle school, we had multiple undefeated seasons. At the varsity level, we won four Suffolk County Championships, four Long Island Championships, and two New York State Championships.

Historically, youth field hockey programs have been difficult to find on Long Island, but the communities that do have them consistently produce strong high school teams. Today, youth programs are emerging across the island, and that growth is exciting to see.

I started this program in Fall 2022 with the goal of introducing girls in the Huntington area to field hockey before they reach middle school. I am committed to putting sticks in as many young athletes’ hands as possible and creating an environment that is fun, positive, and low-pressure. Our focus is on building fundamental skills, developing an understanding of the game, introducing team concepts, and most importantly, fostering a love for the sport.
